I know I said I wouldn't talk so much about the bigger and scarier things but I have been talking to a few friends. They say I should talk about different states in our country and their “monsters.” And so I have asked a friend which state I should start off with and they have said Florida. I have not only done my own research but have been told long and old from grandparents who have been there.
The St. Augustine Monster
The St. The Augustine monster is said to be a gigantic octopus. This beast as it was called by the people had stories of it. They said that this monster of an octopus was the reason they and their boat mates were having trouble catching anything. Others say they will never go at night for the fear of the octopus.
The first sighting was on November 30, 1896, by two young boys who were just riding their bikes around Anastasia Island. They had said the monster was half buried under the sand. There were more sightings after that. People report seeing a large octopus swimming around but nothing has come of it. Scientists say that when they had found the octopus it had been hurt badly by something larger. They say that it might have been a competitive and maybe even a larger octopus.
Short and sweet Thanks for reading my lovelies!!!
Marilyn Monroe by Courtney Converse Harris
*CAUTION: talk about suicide, murder, drugs and alcohol, and abuse*
With much reading and as much research I have done these past few weeks, I myself am ready to fully dive into this, so let's go.
Marilyn Monroe was 36 years old when she was tragically found in her Los Angeles home on the morning of August 5th. Speculations and her autopsy that was later told to the public says she died of acute barbiturate poisoning, or as the press world called it an overdose. Nowadays hearing of a Hollywood star overdosing is nothing new, with all the spotlights shining on them now, and back then it was a lot of pressure. So I'm sure you can guess why they would turn to things to relax their nerves.
With Marilyn's short life she did do a lot with what she had and was later known for her acting, modeling, comedy and her singing. She did have her fair share of ups and downs with booking acting parts. Things that people might not have known were she had her struggles on and off the set, people that worked with her told the press that even on set she struggled with her emotions and her drinking of adult drinks.
Other things you may not have known about our beloved actor is that most of her marriages ended short but of the people you might even recognize, names being Arthur Miller, Joe Dimggio and James Dougherty. She was also rumored to have had an affair with the Kennedy brothers.
After her death, people were quick to make assumptions on how she died, with her mental struggles and her alcoholic tendencies mixed with her meds most thought of suicide. With nothing looking out of the ordinary they had no other reason to ruled her case as a suicide and others with their conspiracies that since she was involved romantically with the Kennedy brothers as they were at the height of their fame. People think that she might have known something they didn't want out to the public so people say that the brothers might have hired someone to do something about it.
The actresses upcoming was filled with ups and downs such as being in and out of foster care and being treated poorly by the adults in the house. By the age of 15 she had dropped out of school and married at the age of 16 to her first husband Jimmy Dougherty in 1942. Around 1955 she started her acting career and in 1956 she added her comedic talents to the list of things she has done in her life. Following her time in acting and her marriage to Miller she had two miscarriages, fell into a deep depression struggling with the loss of her children, and turned to drugs and alcohol.
Marilyn Monroe was loved by all and is surely missed by her beloved fans. May the beloved actor rest in peace.
Thanks for reading my lovelies.
